Going Green & Helping the Environment | PJCC

Here at the PJCC we support efforts to make the world a better place. Tikkun Olam (Reparing the World) is one of our Guiding Principles that help us make the world a little greener. The PJCC is proud to promote Green living and business practices and assist the community in partnership with other charitable organizations.

  • Low flush toilets
  • Recycling
  • Encourage patrons to take shorter showers and use reusable water bottles
  • Host used clothing drives
  • Encourage carpooling
  • Recycle fluorescent tubes, batteries, paper, cardboard, cans, glass, and plastics
  • Use compostable plates, cups and utensils
  • Use recyclable paper products
  • Use green products for cleaning
  • Maintaining a Justice Garden that feeds a local homeless shelter

Blood Centers of the Pacific - Helps keep our blood banks stocked

One Warm Coat - Provides coats to those in need

Urban Table - In association with Urban Table, we support local farmers through our Farmers' Market.

Jewish Literacty Coalition - Tutoring children in reading

Kaiser Permanente - Helping to educate children and adults on healthrelated topics.

One Warm Coat - Holding coat drives to supply coats to those in need

Second Harvest Food Bank - Collecting food for area food banks

San Mateo County Office of Education - working with the WorkAbility program to prepare secondary students with disabilities to successfully transition into the world of work
