It's a fiddlin' festival at the PJCC with a double dose of bluegrass. Bring a blanket, pack a picnic and round up all ‘yer pals for the Klezmer/Bluegrass concert event of the season.
Yeehaw! Mosey on over for a fiddlin' fest of foot-stompin', toe-tappin' hand-clappin' bluegrass known around these here parts as "Jewgrass*!"
* "Jewgrass" = soulful mix of klezmer and bluegrass.
The evening of mountain music opens with The Wronglers featuring Warren Hellman who founded the nationally recognized "Hardly Strictly Bluegrass" music festival in San Francisco. They are guaranteed to get toes tapping and spirits high.
Then, get ready for the jewels of Jewgrass, Margot Leverett & The Klezmer Mountain Boys. Their music joins two genres literally worlds apart. "Appalachian and southern fiddle tunes meet klezmer melodies from pre-war Russia and Eastern Europe. The resulting medleys and improvisations are at once raw, funny, soulful and footstomping".
If you liked the soundtrack from O Brother Where Art Thou or artists like Alison Krauss, The Country Gentlemen, or Earl Scruggs then you are going to LOVE this bluegrass festival!
