For active campers, Kadima has daily field trips and/or on-site activities--two-night camping adventures, amusement park trips, overnights at the PJCC and a service day or two. Trips may include Great America, Raging Waters, Giants games and more! Camping adventures may include the Russian River, Monterey and Big Basin Redwoods State park. Campers' skills are enhanced through supervised activities such as rock climbing, sailing, water skiing and canoeing.
Teen Tiyul (Travel)
For 9th - 10th Graders
A trendy, more social and savvy program that caters to today's teens. Participants will explore vibrant urban areas, hang out and relax on beautiful beaches, run and dodge paintballs, and speed around corners in mini-race cars. Each session participants can expect camping adventures, amusement park days, plus a special three-day excursion to the Lake Tahoe area for excitement, sun, sand and outdoor adventure. In this program, teens will participate in activities that encourage team-building, socializing, self-confidence, and good old-fashioned FUN!
Leadership, Service and Action Camp (LSAC)
For 9th - 12th Graders
Explore leadership concepts, do community service, and learn to take action while meeting new people and having fun! LSAC is fast-paced with activities such as camping, service projects, social action days, cool trips, a PJCC overnight and more! Teens will get a chance to make a difference in and around our community while enjoying a great time with their peers. This program is perfect for completing required community service hours while creating lasting memories. Service veterans and first-timers welcome!
Counselors in Training (CIT)
For 11th - 12th Graders
Explore what it means to be a working professional and a child care specialist. Build confidence and skills while working closely with counseling staff, specialists, and campers in grades K - 2. CITs will also learn about program development and implementation through an apprenticeship in areas such as art, drama, sports and music. Upon completion of the CIT program, participants will have a cover letter and resume that they will be proud of and a new ability to get ahead in school and life.
Participation requires a separate application before being accepted into the CIT program (contact the Camp Office to have an application sent to you). The CIT program may be used toward fulfillment of high school graduation community service requirements and is not a paid position. Completion of the CIT program enables participants to apply for paid junior counselor positions that may be available during the last two sessions of camp. There is no fee, plus participants enjoy FREE access to the Byer Athletic Center while enrolled in this program!
