Meet Our Preschool Directors
Judy Garb
Director of Early Childhood Education
Teaching at the PJCC preschool for the past 25 years has been a most rewarding experience. I earned my Masters Degree in Public Administration, but early in my career I discovered that teaching is my true passion. Married to my best friend for 43 years, I enjoy playing tennis, reading, traveling, eating out and spending time with my grandchildren. One of my greatest pleasures is meeting new families and helping them make connections in our community. We never just take a child into our preschool, we welcome their entire family! My favorite quote is, “Perhaps imagination is just intelligence having fun.”
Sheila Marx
Assistant Director of Early Childhood Education
I feel lucky to have been part of the PJCC family for almost 20 years. My first experience here was as a parent when my two sons were preschoolers. Passionate about Early Childhood Education, I began teaching here 15 years ago and loved each and every magical moment. Now, as the Assistant Director of Early Childhood Education, I feel honored to work with our families and our amazing staff in this very special community. Each day is a treasure when you are invited to share in the world of a preschooler. My degree is in Child and Adolescent Development with an emphasis on the Young Child and Family. With my family, I enjoy travel, cooking, kayaking, reading and mah jong!
Lisa Elliott
ECE Program Coordinator/Camp Director
I have had the honor of working at the PJCC Preschool for 15 years and have experienced many aspects of the profession. I started out as an Assistant Teacher, moving to Lead Teacher with extras like teaching Enrichment Classes and being the Program Director for the Preschool Summer Camp. My current responsibilities are now the year-round Program Coordinator as well as the Director and Program Director of the Preschool Winter, Spring and Summer Camps. In 2008, I was the recipient of a Helen Diller Family Award for Excellence in Jewish Education for my work in the field of Early Childhood Education. I am committed to making the PJCC Preschool and Preschool Camps a fun and educational environment. Children are our future, and teachers are their guides. I am so blessed to be a part of that future.
