Grades PreK - 5

Explore the kid-friendly community at the PJCC and discover why we are a great place for kids of all ages to grow, learn, and deepen their connections to one another. Take a class, join a team, or attend a fun event!

Enrichment Classes

We have classes for kids from age 1 month to 10 years. Soccer, cooking, gymnastics, LEGOs, basketball, art, music, and so many more!

 

Important Registration Information for PJCC Youth Enrichments:

In an effort to allow Center members the opportunity to participate in a variety of youth classes, please take note of our registration policy. Center Members will have the option to enroll in three free youth classes during the first week of youth class registration.  Center Members will be automatically removed from the last free class registered for, over the initial three class allotment, during the first week of registration. After the first week of registration, and as space allows, Center Members will be able to register for additional free classes.

Weekend Kids' Club

Starting October 28: Spend Saturday and Sunday mornings with us! In this flexible drop-in program, children ages 6 – 10 years (must be in grades 1–5) will enjoy art, science, and games, as well as free play with their friends.

Advanced Coding 101 for Kids: Grades 3-5

Refine coding skills in this advanced coding class. Children will continue to learn and develop fundamental programming concepts including creating animations and interactive projects.Children must have previous coding experience. Advanced Soccer: Grades 2-5

Enhance your soccer skills in this engaging clinic! Children will refine their soccer techniques including kicking, dribbling, shooting, scrimmaging and more through exciting games and exercises. Basic Video Game Design: Grades 2-5

Build your own video game in this introductory video game design class! Using basic coding skills, children will develop their own video game that they will be proud to play. Children will create their own characters, game environments and more. Children must be comfortable using a computer and must have prior coding experience. Exploring the world of Textiles through fabric art and crafting. Make creations out of various types of fabric, learn how to weave, sew and knit and use and display your work for years to come! Children must be in grades K-1. Registration required.

Chess offers a fun and intellectually-challenging chess education experience designed for all levels of young chess players. No previous experience of chess is required. Create, Mix, Mingle & Paint Workshop for Kids

Create, Mix, Mingle & paint Workshop for kids. Create your own masterpiece painting! In this special introductory workshop, an art instructor will guide you step by step to create a featured painting. You will leave with a one-of-a kind work of art that you'll be proud to display in your home! Participants must be in grades K-5. Instructor: Create, Mix & Mingle Staff!

Drumming 101 for Kids: Grades 2-5

Groove to the rhythms you create through exploration of different drums, rhythms and music styles in this drum ensemble class. Samba, Carnival and Hip Hop beats are created and performed each week. Whether you have studied drums before, or this is your first time, all are welcome! Children must be in grades 2 - 5. Registration required. Instructor: Art and Soul Staff.

Food Chemistry

Ignite your curiousity as you use your five senses to explore foods and liquids found in your very own kitchen! Children will conduct exciting experiments including extracting DNA from strawberries, making berry litmus paper, creating invisible citric ink and more! Extra materials fee of $40 payable upon registration. Children must be in grades K-1. Registration required. PJCC Staff.

Jr. Archaeologist: Grades K-2

Discover the exciting world of archaeology in this introductory class! Children will learn about archaeological digs and excavations through hands on activities. Kids Night Out!: Age 3 - Grade 5

Calling all moms and dads... take the night off and send your kids to join their friends! In these exciting theme-filled evenings, children will enjoy games, dinner, dessert, a movie and more! Registering two or more kids? Receive a sibling discount by calling the Welcome Center at 650.378.2703. Register in advance and save! Fees increase at noon on the Friday prior to each program. Knitting: Grades 2-5

Create your own knitted works to use and wear. Not only is knitting fun, but it teaches fine motor coordination, reading, math, critical thinking and problem-solving skills! Registration required.

Explore the science behind your favorite movie scenes! Build your own Olaf from Frozen, fly a magic carpet just like in Aladdin, and so much more. Mythbusters

True or False? Mythbusters is an exciting class where children will question some of our favorite myths - True! In this interactive class, children will design experiments to debunk or prove popular myths. Does bread always fall butter side up? Or can a coin really land on heads 50% of the time? Don't miss out on the fun! Registration required. Children must be grades 2-5.

Recycled Art: Grades K-2

'One man's trash is another man's treasure!' Create one-of-a-kind pieces of artwork using recycled materials. Learn different art techniques, while also learning how repurposing saves the environment. In the last class, children will be able to showcase their pieces of art to family and friends. Youth Soccer

Children thrive with this non-competitive curriculum and positive coaching style in a pressure-free environment. Have fun while learning soccer basics such as kicking, dribbling, shooting, heading and goalkeeping while participating in age-appropriate games and exercises designed specifically for your child!
