Book Travelers: A PJCC Book Club for Kids
Foster a love of reading in our first PJCC Book Club just for kids! Children will read a popular, age-appropriate children's book. Chess: Grades K - 5
Chess offers a fun and intellectually-challenging chess education experience designed for all levels of young chess players. No previous experience of chess is required. Students will learn the fundamentals of chess, tactics and strategies. Children must be in grades K-5. Registration required. Coding 101 for Kids: Grades 3 -5
Children will develop a basic understanding of computer programming, as well as learn fundamental programming concepts. No previous programming skills are required but children should feel comfortable using a computer. Children must be in grades 3 - 5. Registration required. Create, Mix, Mingle & Paint Workshop for Kids
Create your own masterpiece painting! In this special workshop, an art instructor will guide you step by step to create a mixed media painting using different methods of art. Is it Magic or Science?
Try your hand at 'magic' in this exciting class! Children will conduct hands on 'magic tricks' including making eggs bounce, creating slime that is magnetic, causing water to bend and more! Extra materials fee of $40 payable upon registration. Registration required. Instructor: PJCC Staff
Kids Night Out!: Age 3 - Grade 5
Calling all moms and dads... take the night off and send your kids to join their friends! In these exciting theme-filled evenings, children will enjoy games, dinner, dessert, a movie and more! Math Madness: Addition and Subtraction Grades 1-3
Set your child up for success! In this academic enrichment, children will enhance their multiple digit addition and subtraction skills in a small environment tailored to your child's needs. The class will stress the importance of writing out steps cleanly and checking answers, as these skills become more critical at this stage. Children's progress will be monitored and updates will be sent to parents/guardians. Children must be in grades 1-3. Registration required. Paint Mixed Media with Create Mix & Mingle: Grades K-2
Spark your imagination in this exciting class! Children will design and create projects incorporating painting and drawing. Children will work with an exciting array of traditional and non-traditional materials including canvas, decorative and textured papers, yarn, beads, flowers and their own found objects! The possibilities are endless as they create collages, greeting cards and other visual art projects guided by a local professional artist. Extra materials fee of $25 payable upon registration. Enhance your soccer skills in this engaging clinic! Children will refine their soccer techniques including kicking, dribbling, shooting and more through exciting games and exercises. Yoga Education for Autism Spectrum
This group yoga session is designed specifically for children with developmental and learning challenges including; Autism, ADD, Sensory Integration Disorder and Anxiety. Yoga helps children quiet their mind and minimize distractions - thus promoting focus and mindfulness. Children will also learn to use breathing techniques to self-regulate when they are feeling anxious. Additional benefits include; improvement in children's social skills, physical strength and body awareness. Children will be divided into one of two classes, 45 minutes in length.
