PRENATAL PILATES PARTY

Pilates Coordinator Monique Molino invites new and expectant mothers to learn the benefits of Pilates – both Mat and Reformer -- during pregnancy. Postnatal recovery will also be discussed. Light refreshments will be served.

FREE for Center Members; $5 for Community Members and the public.

PRIVATE PILATES & YOGA SESSIONS

Specialties & Interests: Using Pilates with other modalities for a cross-training effect.
Philosophy: There is something for everybody, so why don’t you give us a chance to find what we can do for you!

Class Etiquette

  • Be on time.
  • Do not enter the studio while class is in session.
  • At the instructor’s discretion, there can be a five to ten minute grace period for late admittance.

Pilates Mat

PJCC offers free Pilates mat classes utilizing props such as fitness rings, and physioballs. Our Pilates mat classes are taught with Joseph Pilates classic breathing techniques, flow and an appropriate number of repetitions. We emphasize neck safety and challenge underutilized muscles. Not only will we be targeting the abdominals in these classes, but we will also challenge the back, inner and outer thighs and gluteals.

Alignment in the Lyengar Style: A Yoga Workshop

The Iyengar method of yoga is characterized by the use of props and precise attention to detail. Learn how proper alignment and posture provides you with the opportunity to slow down and refine your vinyasa (flow) yoga practice for maximum benefit. Asanas (poses) will be held for an extended period of time so that you can focus on the exact position of each part of your body. Come with an open mind and heart and learn about the Iyengar method through demonstration, direct experience and hands-on adjustments.

Pilates Reformer

A small group training series in which each participant uses a Pilates Allegro Reformer to develop core control, flexibility, balance, coordination and strength. Participants learn breathing techniques and full body alignment. Instructors guide each participant through a series of progressions to maximize individual results.

Reformer classes are for healthy individuals.

Pilates Reformer Jumpboard

The Jumpboard on the Reformer will be used as a plyometric training tool to increase power and bone density without risk of falling down or losing balance. Get ready for heart pumping, calorie burning, total-body cardio and core exercise combinations.

Prenatal Pilates

Pilates on the Reformer and Mat. Students will learn how their bones and muscles work in the exercises to prepare for giving birth. A gentle way to include a strength maintenance component to your prenatal workouts while receiving the rejuvenating stretches needed to relieve tension in the low back, pelvic floor, neck and shoulders.
