Named by the Forward newspaper in 2008 as one of America’s 50 most significant Jewish leaders, Rabbi Allen is the founder of Magen Tzedek, an organization dedicated to certifying ethical food production. He will discuss what led him to found Magen Tzedek as a response to the Postville kosher meat scandal, and some of the broader Jewish community responses to his work.. $35/$40.

Learn how to prepare and turn seasonal fruits into tasty jams and preserves! Participants will learn basic canning techniques and go home with two jars of home-made delights!
