Get Up & Go
A transportation and activity program for
older adults who do not drive
The Get Up & Go program provides a way for those who don't drive to be more independent through our transportation services. It also provides opportunities for older adults to participate in engaging activities with others.
Get Up & Go was nominated for the Jewish Community Federation's Program of the Year 2009.
Personalized Transportation Assistance
Take advantage of this low-cost shared ride transportation program Monday, Tuesday and Friday of each week. Escorts are provided as needed. This service enables non-driving older adults to “Get Up & Go” to medical, dental and personal appointments, or for personal errands such as banking, food & clothing shopping. Personal caregivers are transported free of charge.
In addition, if riders need a helping hand, volunteers are available to help with:
- Door-to-door Transportation
- Stepping on and off the bus
- Walking to destinations
- Picking up prescriptions, orders and supplies
- Handling cumbersome packages while shopping
- Taking notes at medical appointments or consultations
Registration
Reservations are required no later than the Thursday in the week prior to the date transportation or programs are needed. Call 650.378.2750 for information.

Social Activities and Events
On alternating Wednesdays, Get Up & Go provides transportation service from your home to events at the PJCC. Enjoy quality programs, entertaining activities and low-cost lunches.
Pursue interests, discover hobbies and engage with others while enjoying social amenities such as:

- Seminars on various topics such as Safety, Medicine, health
- Current events discussions/lectures with visiting experts or politicians
- Documentary films including discussions with filmmakers
