Get Up & Go: Music And The Mystery of Purim
Many people don't know about Purim - one of the most fun-filled Jewish holidays, commemorating a time when Queen Esther in Persia helped save the Jews from extermination by the evil Haman. The traditional triangular fruit-filled cookies called hamantaschen represent Haman's three-cornered hat. In honor of this holiday, Mark Levy will present songs from many traditions in Yiddish, Hebrew, Ladino, and English.
