The PJCC offers an exciting fitness program specifically designed for sedentary older adults who exercise less than 60 minutes a week.

health FREE HEALTH INSURANCE COUNSELING & aDVOCACY (hicap)

The PJCC is now offering appointments with HICAP counselors to discuss Medicare topics such as:

  • Understanding original Medicare, part A&B
  • Medigap & Medicare Advantage plans
  • Prescription Drug Plan / Medicare savings Programs
  • Employee Group Health coverage & Retiree Health Insurance
  • Medi-Cal / Long-term care insurance

Appointments available at the PJCC every Thursday from 9:30 - 11:30 am.

Transportation and activity program
for older adults

The PJCC offers older adults transportation to appointments, such as medical, dental, food shopping, etc. It also provides opportunities for older adults to participate in engaging programs and activities with others.

Volunteer to drive seniors, answer phones and/or help a senior who might need a supportive arm or help with shopping and errands. Occasional availability is fine! Call Betty Burr at 650.378.2698. Learn more

Aqua Fitness

Take your workout to the pool with this invigorating, non-impact class. Use water resistance to develop strength and cardiovascular endurance. Swimming experience is not necessary. Appropriate for all levels of fitness. Please see our indoor pool schedule to find a time that suits you best. See indoor pool schedule for times.

Get Up & Go: Frank Sinatra - A Life In Song

Always popular with PJCC audiences, Steve Gill says about Frank Sinatra, 'No one could sing of loneliness better. Even his songs of joy and unbounded happiness were manifestations of a fundamental loneliness.' Join Steve as he narrates through story and song the rise and fall and later rebirth of the reputation of this most popular of all 20th century singers. He will be accompanied by the lyrical guitar arrangements of Karl Franzen. Registration Required.

Get Up & Go: Georgia O'Keefe, A Life in Art

Art historian and artist Marlene Aron has delighted PJCC audiences with her informative and enthusiastic presentations about a number of great artists. For this look into the work and art of George O'Keefe, whose art was recently exhibited at the DeYoung Museum in San Franciscos, Marlene presents over 80 slides of the work of this American icon, along with fascinating facts about her life and philosophy. Get Up & Go: Jack Convery - Toe-Tapping Banjo

Jack Convery has been band director of the S.F. 49ers band since 1987 and was the United Artists 1973 best banjoist in Northern California. His lively program includes timeless jazz classics, novelty showstoppers, country, pop, and bluegrass standards. You'll hear Americana classics from Cole Porter to Gershwin, Irving Berlin, George M. Cohan, Duke Ellington, and more, along with audience participation. Registration Required.

Get Up & Go: Keith Williams - Piano and Vocals

Pianist/vocalist/composer/arranger Keith Williams, a native of the bay area, is an active musician in the San Francisco bay as a soloist with bands and also as a piano teacher and vocal coach. He performs often in overseas hotels and music venues, primarily in Japan, China and Korea. His repertoire consists of Blues, R&B. Pop, Country and Brazilian Bossa Nova songs as well as Cole Porter, Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Duke Ellington. Registration Required.
